Pte Walter George Lewis 23/04/1917 aged 27 Walter served in the Army under the name of George Lewis. Called up on reserve at the outbreak of war, Walter was drafted to France on Wednesday 12/08/1914 and was wounded several times during his service. He was wounded during Sunday 22/04/1917 when he received gunshot wounds to his stomach, being removed to either 45th or 49th Casualty Clearing Station at Achiet-le-Grand where he succumbed the next day. He was (possibly) the son of William and Annie Lewis of 66, Jessel Road, Walsall. for Graeme Clarke and the people of Walsall |

18 His brother Sjt John Forrester 10/11/1917 aged 20 is buried in Favreuil British cemetery. for their great nephew Chris Hill and for Tony Pringle and the people of Newmarket |
