Sjt John Abraham Glover 10/08/1891 - 19/10/1918
He enlisted in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire, and have been taken prisoner on 15/04/1918 at Nieuwkerke (Neuve Eglise.)
John was Born in Bolsover, Derbyshire, son of Thomas and Alice Glover nee Coupe.
He was former Coal Hewer and lived in Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire with his wife Eliza Glover nee Davies and his son John Tomas.
He was taken to the POW camp at Friedrichsfeld near Mannheim where he was used in a forced labour programme, possibly in coal or salt mines
He was present here in the camp on 04/09/1918 according to list compiled for the CIRC. He was in the process of being repatriated with other British prisoners (the Germans realised the end of the war was near) back to the English lines. Whilst on the journey he contracted the “Spanish Influenza” while being in poor physical condition and died of bronchial pneumonia.

Pte Richard Stockwell 31/10/1918 aged 38
Richard was enlisted in the South African Army, but was actually from Salford (Near Manchester), England.
He was one of 4 bothers who fought in World War one.
Three died, Richard;
Philip (South Lancashire Regt) died of disease in Iraq;
Robert (Manchester Regt) died of wounds 17/06/1917, buried in Bethune Town Cemetery.
The fourth one, Samuel was the only survivor (was driver and later bombardier in the Royal Horse and Field Artillery) and was wounded at Cambrai on the same day as Richard died, he was sleeping when a shell expoded nearby, his horse was killed but absorbed most of the shrapnel, he suffered wounds and was discharged fron hospital in Glasgow in March 1919.

Pte James Joseph Goode 24/10/1918 aged 44
James was born in Birmingham and lived with his wife and three children at 3, New Street, Walsall.
He enlisted in the Army at Worcester on Thursday 06/08/1914 at which time he was employed by Steward and Lloyd Limited of Birmingham.
James was captured during a german assault on Friday 26/04/1918.
